The Beacon is a large stone built house dating from the beginning of the century. It is situated on the coastline with magnificent sea views from all the main rooms and a short walk from the harbour.
St.Abbs is a picturesque fishing village an ideal retreat from modern day living. The coastline is rugged with sandy coves, the nearest being Coldingham sands which can be reached by a pleasant coastal path in just a few minutes. This beautiful beach is popular with families and surfers. It is very safe, it is patrolled by qualified lifeguards.
In the summer season daily boat trips are available for fishing and to view the large colony of seabirds on St.Abbs Head, which is a National Trust nature reserve. The nature reserve can also be reached by a cliff top path, which provides excellent views over the Berwickshire coast, north to Fife and south Northumbria. The harbour is also popular with sea anglers and sub aqua divers. There is a post office / shop in the village and an interesting museum.

The area is ideal for bird watchers and walkers, with the nature reserve and clifftop walks proving popular
